 Richard D. Kane, M.D.

Dr. Kane, president of Wake Urological Associates, P.A., has been practicing medicine in Raleigh, N.C. as a board certified urologist since 1978. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College of Minnesota in 1967 and earned his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1971. He completed his post graduate studies with residencies in surgery and urology at Duke University Medical Center from 1971-1977. He was born in Gary, Indiana but has called North Carolina home since 1971.

Dr. Kane is a member of several professional organizations including the American Urological Association, the International Society of Impotence Research, and the North Carolina Urological Association. He has served as Chief of Surgery at Raleigh Community Hospital, Chief of Surgery at Rex Hospital, and is currently Chief of Staff at Rex Hospital.

He is married to Susan Page Kane, a Greensboro native, and they have one daughter Catherine, a college student. His favorite activity is spending time with his family, but loves bicycling, wood-working and fishing. He is very active in his church and is an avid student of history.




 Mark W. Jalkut, M.D.

Dr. Mark Jalkut grew up in New England and graduated from Dartmouth College Suma Sum Laude with a degree in chemistry and was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa. He pursued his medical degree at Stanford University and completed an Internship in general surgery and Residency in Urology at the University of California, Los Angeles. His wife, Dr. Eloise Watson, is an Ob/Gyn originally from Oxford, NC and they relocated to Raleigh in 2004. They have a daughter, Chloe.

Professionally, Dr. Jalkut enjoys caring for patients with all urologic problems and is especially interested in urologic cancer, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, female and reconstructive urology. He enjoys the beach, skiing, rooting for the Boston Red Sox and making his daughter laugh.





 Philip M. Newhall, M.D.

Dr. Newhall received undergraduate degrees in engineering and chemistry from the University of Florida and Wake Forest University respectively. He completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in 1994 and his urology residency at Duke University Medical Center in 2000. He joined Wake Urological Associates immediately after residency. He enjoys practicing all forms of general adult urology with special interest in laparoscopic surgery, female incontinence, and male erectile dysfunction.

Dr. Newhall is married to Dr. Janet Elizabeth (Betsy) Tuttle-Newhall. They have two children, Elizabeth Grace (12/24/00) and Thomas (6/29/03), and are members of Epworth Methodist Church in Durham. Beyond “fatherly duties”, his recreational interests include golfing and fly fishing. Dr. Newhall is an active member of The American Urological Association, the North Carolina Medical Association, and The Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.




 Joseph D. Neighbors, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Neighbors is a board certified urologist. He received his bachelor of arts in biochemistry from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia where he interned in general surgery. He completed his post-graduate studies with residencies in general surgery and urology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Neighbors is a member of the American Urological Association, The North Carolina Urological Association, North Carolina Medical Society and the Wake County Medical Society.

Dr. Neighbors enjoys practicing general urology, but his areas of special interest include urologic oncology and endourology.

Dr. Neighbors and his wife Suzanne have three children and live in Cary. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, playing tennis, and participating in his church activities.
